NIGER GOVERNOR SUSPENDS POLITICAL RALLY TO MOURN OVER 30 DEATHS IN NSCDC CUSTODY, ANNOUNCES SUSPENSION OF STATE CONTROLLER

The Niger State government has cancelled the APC political rally slated for this Saturday in Minna, the State capital.

Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago announced this during a briefing on the unfortunate incident involving over 30 deaths of miners in Minna.

The governor commiserated with the families of those who lost their lives.

He announced the suspension of the state controller of the NSCDC and that a committee of enquiry be set up for investigation to ascertain the cause of death.

The governor then declared a 3 day mourning period in their honor.
