NIGER GOVERNOR RECEIVES GOVERNOR OF THE YEAR AWARD.

Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago has received the “Governor of the Year” award by the Daily Times Nigeria newspaper.

According to a statement by his chief press secretary Bologi Ibrahim, the award was presented to him at the Daily Times centenary heroes award held in Abuja.

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), some state governors, lawmakers, business moguls, and technocrats, among others, were also honoured with awards under various categories for their outstanding performances.

Speaking to newsmen after receiving the award, the Governor expressed delight over the award, describing it as an additional push for him to do more for the overall benefits of the people.

He appreciated the Daily Times Nigeria newspaper for recognising his efforts in agriculture, support to agribusinesses, infrastructure, and other sectors.

Earlier, the Chairman of Folio Media Group, owners of the Daily Times Nigeria, Fidelis Anosike, gave a brief on the newspaper and thanked appreciated the farmer Governor and other awardees for their contributions in service to humanity and their support to the organisation.

Some members of the state executive council, other top government officials, and well-wishers of the Farmer Governor also witnessed the event.

The event also featured a book unveiling by the SGF and a keynote address by Dr. Akinwumi Ayodele Adesina, former president of the African Development Bank, who was also an award recipient.
