NIGER COMMISSIONER FOR WATER RESOURCES FAROUK AUDI INDUCTED AS NIWE FELLOW

The Honourable Commissioner, Niger State Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation Services, Engineer Farouk Umaru Audi, has been conferred with the prestigious Fellowship of the Nigerian Institution of Water Engineers (NIWE), in recognition of his professional contributions and commitment to the advancement of the water resources and irrigation sector.

According to a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry,
Akilu Musa Kuta the conferment took place at the 13th Fellowship Conferment Ceremony, organised by the Nigerian Institution of Water Engineers, a division of the Nigerian Society of Engineers.

The programme, which commenced on Monday, concluded with the presentation of Fellowship awards to about 27 distinguished engineers from across Nigeria, including the Honourable Commissioner.

The Fellowship represents a significant professional milestone for Engineer Audi and reflects the Institution’s recognition of his expertise, leadership and contributions to water engineering and management. His elevation further highlights the importance of technical competence and professionalism in addressing challenges in water supply, sanitation, irrigation and sustainable water resources development.

The multi-day programme brought together leading professionals, engineers and stakeholders in the water sector for knowledge sharing, professional engagement and discussions on emerging issues and innovations in water engineering. The activities also provided an opportunity for participants to strengthen collaboration and explore sustainable solutions to Nigeria’s water-sector challenges.

The conferment of the Fellowship on Engineer Farouk Umaru Audi adds another notable milestone to his professional career and reinforces the responsibility to continue contributing to the growth of the water engineering profession and improved water services.
