Governor Okpebholo provides buses for 2026 batch B stream II corps members to their PPA

Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has provided 25 buses for the free transportation of members of the 2026 Batch ‘B’ Stream II of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) from the Permanent Orientation Camp in Okada to their Places of Primary Assignment (PPAs) across the state.

The vehicles, comprising 20 buses and five coaster buses, were deployed to convey the corps members to the 18 local government areas following the completion of their orientation programme.

Commissioner for Youth, Hon. Charity Amayanvbo, who disclosed this, said the vehicles arrived at the Okada camp at about 9 a.m. yesterday to ensure an orderly and seamless movement of the corps members to their destinations.

He said the transportation was provided free by the state government to reduce the financial and logistical burden on the corps members, particularly those travelling to communities with which they were unfamiliar.

Amayanvbo recalled that the governor had in June approved the payment of outstanding meal subsidy owed corps members.

He said the latest intervention was part of the Okpebholo administration’s commitment to the welfare and safety of young people serving in the state.

The NYSC Edo State Coordinator, Mr. Fasina Adedotun Julius, hailed the governor for the gesture and his support for corps members.

He said the provision of free transportation would ease their movement from the orientation camp and enable them to proceed to their PPAs without the burden of sourcing transportation.

The corps members also expressed appreciation to the state government for the intervention.

Amayanvbo said the government would continue to implement measures aimed at improving the welfare of young people and providing a conducive environment for corps members deployed to Edo State.
