GOVERNOR BAGO ATTENDS PRAYER SESSION MARKING ETSU NUPE'S 23RD ANNINVERSARY

Executive governor of Niger State, Mohammed Umaru Bago was in attendance at the prayer session at the Wadata Palace Bida for the Etsu Nupe as part of activities lined up in celebrating his 74th birthday and the 23 years on the throne.

In a statement by the chief press secretary Bologi Ibrahim, the prayers session was at the instance of the governor and was led by the Chief Imam of Bida, Sheikh Adamu Yakatun who offered series of prayers for the wellbeing of the Etsu Nupe and his subjects.

Prayers were equally held for the farmer governor, the State and for the overall peace and progress of the Bida Emirate, Niger State and the Country at large.

Umaru Bago at the event emphasized the need for Nigerians to keep praying for the Country, and their leaders in various capacities.

The governor described the Etsu Nupe as a global icon who has earned respect said the Nupe kingdom is proud of him for what he has done for the Nupes.

He appreciated the Etsu Nupe for projecting Niger State and his throne in positive light and reassured him of his continued support even as he prayed that Allah continue to give him more strength and wisdom to continue to steer Bida emirate to greater heights.

Farmer Umaru Bago equally advocated the need for Nigerians to play politics with respect, decorum and calmness as the nation enters electioneering campaigs explaining that Allah is the ultimate decider that gives power to whosoever he wishes.

Etsu Nupe and Chairman Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers , Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar appreciated the farmer governor and entourage who had come to be part of his milestone achievement .

He gave thank to Allah for his guidance and protection oer the years and for giving him the strength to continue in his leadership role as the Etsu Nupe.

While appreciating his ubjects for their love and support, the Etsu Nupe reaffirmed his determination and commitment to working assiduously for the growth and development of the Nupe land

Special guest of honour and Emir of Lafia, Hon. Justice Sidi Dauda Bage Muhammad II who described the Etsu Nupe as a father figure to the Nation said, he deserves all the respect and honour expected of an exemplary leader.

He said, the Etsu Nupe is a hardworking man who plays huge role in decision making and prayed Allah to continue giving him more wisdom.

He also commended the farmer governor for his developmental strides in the State adding that, the people of the State are very lucky to have a compassonate man as a governor who cares for their well-being.

The event had many traditional rulers both from within and outside the State ⁵in attendance including the Emir of Kagara, Alhaji Ahmed Garba Gunna Attahiru II, the Andoma of Doma, Sarkin Dadare, Sarkin Shako and sarkin hakiri and the Baraden Lafiya, Musa Liman all from Nasarawa State.
