The Niger State Commissioner for Water Resources and Irrigation Services, Engr. Farouk Umaru Audi, has participated in the 9th Nigerian Institution of Water Engineers (NIWE) International Water Conference (IWC) held in Abuja, alongside professionals, policymakers, researchers and other key stakeholders in the water sector.
The conference, organised by the National Body of the Nigerian Institution of Water Engineers (NIWE), is themed “Effective Water Governance and Security: Innovating for a Resilient Future.” The event provides a platform for water professionals and stakeholders to deliberate on contemporary challenges confronting the sector and explore innovative approaches to achieving sustainable and resilient water management.
Engr. Farouk Umaru Audi attended the conference alongside the General Manager, Technical Services, Niger State Water and Sewage Corporation (NISWASEC), further demonstrating the commitment of the Niger State Government to strengthening professional collaboration and promoting innovative solutions in the water resources and irrigation sector.
The conference brings together experts and practitioners to exchange knowledge and experiences on critical issues including effective water governance, water security, sustainable infrastructure, technological innovation and improved service delivery. Discussions at the event are expected to contribute to the development of practical strategies for addressing emerging water-sector challenges.
