CJTF-TF CLARIFIES LOGO MIX-UP, APOLOGISES TO CIVILIAN JTF

The Citizen Joint Tactical Formation (CJTF-TF) Nigeria has expressed its sincere apologies and wish to clarify the circumstances surrounding the use of the logo of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) in a recent publication by Blueprint Newspaper concerning CJTF-TF Nigeria.

This is contained in a statement signed by the
Founder/National Coordinator
Citizen Joint Tactical Formation (CJTF-TF) Nigeria Taminu Shehu.

The story submitted to Blueprint Newspaper by the Citizen Joint Tactical Formation (CJTF-TF) was accompanied by the official CJTF-TF Nigeria logo. However, during the publication process, the newspaper inadvertently substituted the submitted logo with that of the Civilian Joint Task Force, apparently on the assumption that the two organisations were the same or affiliated.

He wish to state categorically that CJTF-TF Nigeria did not provide, authorise, reproduce, copy or use the logo of the Civilian Joint Task Force. The logo published alongside the story was selected and inserted by the newspaper’s publishing team and was not the logo submitted by CJTF-TF Nigeria.

CJTF-TF Nigeria deeply regrets the misunderstanding and any tension or concern that may have arisen as a result of the publication. We sincerely apologise to the leadership, members and supporters of the Civilian Joint Task Force for any misrepresentation or inconvenience occasioned by the error.

The statement also wish to make it clear that CJTF-TF Nigeria has no intention whatsoever to tarnish the image, reputation or identity of the Civilian Joint Task Force, nor does it seek to appropriate or infringe upon its name, identity, logo or intellectual property.

While the two organisations are distinct entities, CJTF-TF Nigeria recognises and respects the humanitarian and community-oriented objectives associated with efforts to support vulnerable communities and promote public safety, therefore it believe that any misunderstanding arising from the publication can be resolved amicably and constructively.

CJTF-TF Nigeria has communicated its position to the relevant parties and remains committed to responsible communication, respect for established organisations and avoidance of any action that could create unnecessary misunderstanding within the public space.


The organisation appeal for understanding and assure all concerned that CJTF-TF Nigeria remains committed to operating responsibly, transparently and within the law.
