ADVICE TO THE LEADERSHIP OF APC IN NIGER STATE... CHOOSE UNITY, RECONCILIATION AND PROGRESS

The time has come for us, as leaders and stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Niger State, to put aside personal differences, grievances and political calculations and come together for the collective interest of our great party.

Politics is fundamentally about people. No individual is insignificant, and no leader who has contributed to the growth and development of the party should be deliberately pushed aside. Every stakeholder has a role to play, and every contribution matters.

I wish to respectfully appeal to His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Niger State, Farmer Mohammed Umaru Bago, to see every APC stakeholder as his own. Leadership is not about surrounding oneself only with those who agree with everything one says; true leadership is about listening to different voices, embracing constructive criticism and bringing everyone together.

Your Excellency, there are people around every leader who may, knowingly or unknowingly, create divisions by misrepresenting the intentions of others or driving away people whose contributions could strengthen the administration and the party. Please do not allow personal interests to take precedence over the larger interest of Niger State and the APC.

Those of us who have been around and have witnessed the struggles, sacrifices and efforts that went into building the APC in Niger State cannot pretend that everything is perfect. If anyone says there is no problem, then I respectfully disagree—there are issues that require urgent attention, dialogue and genuine reconciliation.

This is therefore a humble call on Your Excellency to urgently convene a broad APC stakeholders’ meeting, bringing together serving and former leaders, senators, former office holders, party executives, aspirants, elders, youth leaders and other critical stakeholders.

Let such a meeting provide an opportunity for truthful dialogue, forgiveness, reconciliation and a fresh beginning.

Our respected leaders have paid their dues. Senator Abu Sani has paid his dues in the APC. Senator Sani 313 has also paid his dues, and so has the Farmer Governor himself. Nobody should be made to feel that his or her contribution to the party no longer matters simply because political circumstances have changed.

As someone who has personally witnessed and participated in the struggles that accompanied the building of the APC in Niger State, it pains me deeply to see genuine party members becoming increasingly distant from one another. We must not allow temporary political disagreements to destroy relationships and structures that took years to build.

I equally appeal to the APC State Executive Committee and other party organs to rise above individual interests and play their constitutional and political role by facilitating genuine reconciliation among the various leaders and tendencies within the party.

We must remember that 2027 will not be won through division. It will be won through unity, consultation, inclusion, reconciliation and collective hard work.

Let us not wait until grievances become permanent wounds. Let us act now while there is still ample opportunity to bring everyone back to the table.

Your Excellency, bring everyone together. Listen to everyone. Forgive everyone. Carry everyone along.

The APC in Niger State belongs to all of us, and the success of one should be the success of all.

Let us choose unity over division, reconciliation over bitterness, inclusion over exclusion, and the collective interest over personal gains.

A party that keeps its people together will always be stronger than one that drives its people apart.

This is not an attack on anyone. It is a sincere appeal from a stakeholder who loves the party, respects its leaders and desires to see the APC remain strong, united and victorious in Niger State.

A word is enough for the wise.

Long live APC.
Long live Niger State.
Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
